Darren Winter
Owner & Head Instructor
Darren Winter has been training in the martial arts since 1990, the foundation of Rogue Combat Arts & Fitness is built on over 30 years of dedication to martial arts and personal development.
With experience in Black Dragon Kung Fu, Mookwang Taekwondo (1st-degree black belt), and Uechi-Ryu Karate (brown belt), the journey combines traditional discipline with practical, real-world application—including nearly two decades of bone conditioning training.
For over 15 years he has also coached in boxing, kickboxing, and ground fighting, alongside certified fitness kickboxing instruction (Level 2), helping people of all backgrounds become stronger, more confident, and more capable.
Rogue Combat Arts & Fitness isn't just about learning how to fight—it's about building resilience, discipline, and a mindset that carries into every part of life.

Sensei Travis Parsons
8th Degree Black Belt
Sensei Travis Parsons oversees the Uechi Ryu Karate program at Rogue Combat Arts & Fitness. As an 8th degree black belt, he brings a wealth of knowledge in traditional Okinawan martial arts, ensuring the highest standard of technique, tradition, and discipline in every class.

Jordan Greenman
3rd Degree Black Belt — 25+ Years Experience
Jordan Greenman instructs all adult Mookwang Taekwondo classes at Rogue Combat Arts & Fitness. With over 25 years of experience and a 3rd degree black belt, Jordan brings deep expertise in traditional Korean martial arts, focusing on forms, technique development, and sparring fundamentals.

Jonathan McWaid
Submission Wrestling Instructor — 30+ Years Experience
Jonathan McWaid leads the Submission Wrestling program with over 30 years of experience in wrestling, jujitsu, and judo. His classes blend all three disciplines with a strong focus on both sport grappling and practical self-defense applications. All experience levels are welcome.

Owen Rovers
1st Degree Black Belt — 10+ Years Experience
Owen Rovers instructs the Saturday Morning Kids Karate program. With a 1st degree black belt and over 10 years of experience, Owen excels at making martial arts fun and engaging for young students while building confidence, coordination, and discipline.

Johnny Hatt
7th Degree Black Belt
Johnny Hatt is a 7th degree black belt in Uechi Ryu Karate who visits Rogue Combat Arts & Fitness for guest instruction, sharing advanced knowledge and techniques with our students.

Andrew Dykens
4th Degree Black Belt – Certified Boxing Coach
Andrew Dykens began his boxing training at age 17 under coach Brian Gibson, a bronze medalist at the 1976 Olympics. He is a certified boxing coach with Tribal Boxing and Rogue Combat Arts & Fitness through Boxing Nova Scotia, and currently teaches kickboxing alongside Coach Andrew Thomas at Tribal Boxing.
Andrew further expanded his martial arts training with four years in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu under the late Sifu Greg Seawards. He continued his development at Kentville Karate Academy, studying Uechi-Ryu Karate under highly respected instructors including Sensei Harold "Bub" Pelham (7th Dan), Sensei Rick Coil (5th Dan), Sensei Scott Robicheau (4th Dan), Sensei Mark Burgess (6th Dan), and Sensei Travis Parsons (8th Dan). He currently holds a 4th degree black belt in Uechi-Ryu Karate under Jim Maloney, founder of Uechi-Ryu Karate Canada.
In addition to his martial arts background, Andrew is the former owner of Shoken Defence MMA & Fitness. He holds Level 3 certification in Fitness Kickboxing Canada, along with certifications as a boot camp instructor and core training instructor. He has also trained for five years in submission wrestling with a strong focus on practical self-defense applications.
